Welcome to the Vue Blog

Jen Ross on why we started a blog, who will be writing it, and what we hope you get out of it.

Hi, I’m Jen. If you’ve been into Vue, we’ve probably met. I’m usually the one reminding everyone to wear sunscreen, including my husband and kids.

I’ve been in medical esthetics for 17 years, and I’ve actually spent all 17 of them working with Dr. Swenson. I got into this field partly because of my own experience with acne. I struggled with it through my teens and into adulthood, and I remember how much it affected my confidence. Honestly, that’s still a big part of why I love what I do.

I never really pictured myself writing a blog, but as we were working on our new website, we kept running into a problem. There are so many things we talk about with our clients every day that don’t really belong on a treatment page.

Is this breakout hormonal or is it something I’m using? Do I really need sunscreen in January? What’s the difference between microneedling and Morpheus8? What would you actually do if this were your skin?

Those are the conversations I love having, and we realized we wanted a place to have more of them.

That’s really what this blog is.

It won’t just be me writing. You’ll hear from Kayli, Megan, Laura, and others on our team. We’ll talk about treatments and skincare, but also wellness, products we’re loving (and probably some we aren’t), new things we’re learning, questions we’re hearing from clients, and what we’re doing for our own skin.

And we want it to be honest. None of us have perfect skin. We deal with breakouts, aging, wrinkles, hormones, and all of the same things our clients do.

There is so much information out there about skincare, aesthetics, and wellness, and it can be really hard to know what to believe or where to start. Hopefully this can be a place where we can share what we’ve learned, explain things the way we would if you were sitting in the treatment room with us, and help make some of it a little less overwhelming.

And if there’s something you’ve always wanted to ask us, please do. There’s a pretty good chance someone else is wondering the same thing, and it might just become our next post.

Talk soon,
Jen
