Dermal fillers are one of the most versatile tools in aesthetic medicine — but results depend entirely on the eye and hand behind the syringe. At Vue, filler is planned like any other facial procedure: proportion first, product second. Under the direction of board-certified facial plastic surgeon Dr. Randal Swenson, we use only FDA-approved hyaluronic-acid (HA) fillers from the three collections we trust most — Juvéderm, Restylane, and RHA — matched to your anatomy and your goals.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that occurs naturally in your skin, where it helps retain moisture and gives tissue its fullness and elasticity. HA fillers are a smooth gel form of that same molecule, placed just beneath the surface to add volume where age or genetics have taken it away — smoothing folds, restoring contour, and refining features. Because the gel is made from an HA base, results appear essentially right away and, importantly, can be adjusted or reversed by your provider if needed. Treatments are temporary by design and refreshed over time.

Juvéderm (AbbVie) — a collection of FDA-approved HA fillers indicated to treat multiple areas of the face, with the broadest range of dedicated formulas. Juvéderm Voluma XC is FDA-approved for cheek and chin augmentation and can last up to two years in the cheeks with optimal treatment; Volux XC is FDA-approved for jawline definition; Vollure XC softens moderate-to-severe wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds; and Volbella XC and Ultra XC are used for the lips, with Volbella also FDA-approved for the under-eye (infraorbital) hollows. Juvéderm is known for smooth, long-lasting, natural-looking volume.
Restylane (Galderma) — an award-winning HA portfolio with formulas tuned to different tissue and movement. Restylane Lyft and Contour are FDA-approved for cheek and midface volume, Kysse for natural-looking lip volume, Refyne and Defyne for smile lines and deeper folds, and Eyelight for under-eye hollowing. Restylane Lyft is also FDA-approved to restore volume to the back of the hands. Restylane is known for HA gels that closely resemble the body's own HA.
RHA — Resilient Hyaluronic Acid (Revance) — the first and only FDA-approved HA fillers designed for dynamic wrinkles and folds: the lines in areas of the face that move and express. RHA is formulated to more closely mimic your skin's own HA and to be resilient enough to adapt to facial movement, for a look that stays natural at rest and in motion. Results have been shown to last up to 15 months with optimal treatment.

A filler appointment at Vue takes about 45 minutes. Most HA fillers include lidocaine for comfort, and because you're adding volume, results are visible almost immediately. Common, temporary reactions include redness, swelling, tenderness, firmness, lumps or bumps, bruising, and itching at the injection site — most resolve within days to a couple of weeks, and Juvéderm reports that most side effects resolve within 30 days. To protect your result, we recommend avoiding makeup for about 12 hours and minimizing strenuous exercise, extended sun or heat, and alcohol for the first 24 hours. Most patients return to normal activities the same day.
Dermal fillers are $700 per 1 cc syringe ($70 per 0.1 cc), so you only pay for what you need. Most appointments take about 45 minutes. Member pricing available.
It depends on the product and the area treated. As a general guide, and with optimal treatment: cheek volume can last up to two years (Juvéderm Voluma XC); lips up to about one year; smile lines and deeper folds up to 18 months; jawline and chin up to about one year; and RHA's dynamic-area results up to 15 months. Your provider will give you a timeline specific to your plan.
Most patients describe it as very tolerable. The HA fillers we use are formulated with lidocaine to numb as they're placed, and we can apply additional topical numbing beforehand. You may feel brief pinches or pressure during injection.
Yes — one of the advantages of hyaluronic-acid fillers is that they can be dissolved. If you'd like to adjust or reverse a result, your provider can use an enzyme called hyaluronidase to break down the HA. This is unique to HA fillers and is part of why we favor them.
They do different jobs. HA fillers add volume immediately and shape features and contours. Sculptra is a collagen stimulator that builds volume gradually over months. Botox and other neuromodulators relax the muscles that cause expression lines — they don't add volume. Many patients combine them, and we'll advise on the right mix at your consultation.
Not with our approach. Vue is a surgeon-led practice, and we plan filler around your natural proportions — often conservatively, and often in small combinations across areas. RHA fillers in particular are designed to move with your face for a result that looks natural both at rest and in motion. Our goal is that you look like yourself, refreshed.
Minimal. Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising is common and usually settles within days. Most patients return to normal activities the same day; we'll give you simple aftercare guidance, including avoiding makeup for about 12 hours and easing off strenuous exercise, heat, and alcohol for the first 24 hours.
